Atlanta Smicha Program

smichaboystalk.jpgAtlanta has become one of the fine jewels in the crown of American and International Judaism.
Since 2005, Chabad of Georgia has been training and ordaining Rabbis in the David and Gertrude Silver Atlanta Smicha Program at Congregation Beth Tefillah.
The Atlanta Smicha Program allows aspiring Rabbis to complete the final year of their extensive education in a unique environment for Smicha programs.

Being trained in a vibrant "southern" Jewish community outside of the traditional centers of Judaism, provides these future Rabbis with a unique persepective on Judaism and life wherever they serve the Jewish people.

And the synergy of training within a congregational setting where they become involved with all aspects of communal life enhances both the quality of their training and the vitality of the community.

The Atlanta Smicha Program seeks out and accepts students dedicated to both a high level of scholarship and service to the Jewish people around the world.
Our students come from the world's finest yeshivas in some of the world's finest training centers.

The classes are intentionally small. These talented young men study Jewish texts and also "practical rabbinics" includluding public speaking, counseling, and business administration.

The Atlanta Smicah Program needs sponsors to partner with our students.
Those who partner with a student in a Zevulun-Issachar contract will be credited with the Torah study achieved by the student.

Motivated by a profound love for every Jew and spurred by a boundless optimism, Chabad sets into motion a dazzling array of programs and services to serve Jews from all walks of life.
